In your own words, explain what writer means by the sentence : On occasion, an individual has had no public profile, but the plant has become popular so that we feel we know them.

Certain plants may become very popular because they are more frequently used, but we may not even know the person in honour of who was given the name and the importance of this plant make its owner important as well and we feel that we have always known that person.
